Zeus, the king of the gods, was the youngest son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. He had two older brothers, Poseidon and Hades, and two older sisters, Hera and Demeter.

Cronus was afraid that one of his children would overthrow him, so he swallowed them whole. However, Rhea tricked Cronus into swallowing a stone instead of Zeus. Zeus grew up in hiding, and when he was old enough, he tricked Cronus into regurgitating his siblings.

Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades then led a revolt against Cronus and the other Titans. After a long and bloody war, the Olympians defeated the Titans and Zeus became the king of the gods.
